A found object, or an inspiration of its qualities, begins the creative process. I sketch the concept to discern the logistics of the piece. Often the inside, or “unseen” of the piece is as technical, if not more, than the outside. Next, I hand forge and fabricate gold, silver and patina on copper. Lost wax casting and enamel, as well as cloisonné, are techniques often incorporated. The finished product has a purposeful organic feel to it.
My goal for each piece is that its solid construction and hand texturing will carry forth the treasured quality of found objects that originally inspired me.
